Apparatus

The system includes six vertical Franz diffusion chambers equipped with a dry heating block system and an automatic sampling controller. The cell donor and acceptor compartments are separated by a suitable membrane, eg an artificial membrane, excised human or animal skin or mucosa. The drug delivery system is applied in the donor compartment on top of the membrane, while the lower acceptor compartment is filled with receptor medium. The magnetic stirrer maintains an even temperature throughout the acceptor compartment. Chamber filling and sample collection are fully automated, ensuring high precision and repeatability of the process, as well as a reduced risk of air bubbles accumulating under the membrane.
